Postal Theft

On Friday April 18th, one of our residents checked their mail (after being gone all week) and discovered no mail despite receiving notifications that mail had been delivered. They reported this to the Pacific Beach post office who subsequently started an investigation. Subsequently, the postman (Chris) who delivers Bay Scene’s mail informed them that he had delivered mail to their box on Thursday, April 17th at approximately 16:00. He further let them know this is not an isolated incident because other complexes have experienced similar break-ins recently.

He said that the post office is currently trying to apprehend these criminals to prosecute. He also stated that the USPS will be replacing the master lock for each stack but does not have a timeframe for this to occur.  We reviewed the security tape of the lobby, and as seen below, you can see the two thieves in the act and yes, they did access every stack. 

 Until we get new master keys (and no, we do not have any info on when that will occur), we recommend you get your mail early every evening before it gets dark.
